Suspect Charged n Drug Theft.
PADUCAH, Kentucky - The McCracken County,Kentucky Sheriff's Department says a Paducah,Kentucky woman was arrested in connection with an April drug theft Wednesday. Officials say 33-year-old Melissa Elms has been charged with theft of a controlled substance for stealing 113 Lortabs from Thomas Manning's safe in his bedroom. Manning told investigators that Elms came to his residence, asked him to go to the store and get her a pack of cigarettes. Manning says when he returned from the store, Elms was gone and the Lortabs were missing from his safe, which was possibly left over. Investigators say Elms did enter Manning's safe, took the Lortabs and sold them to purchase crack cocaine.
